Long form-

As a board member for the YWCA Pasadena-Foothill Valley,  I’m proud to help them carry out their mission. The YWCA’s Summer Camp is my favorite program of the year because the girls are able to explore future careers, make new friends, do STEAM activities, and learn about what they can do for higher education.  I need all of my friend’s help to make sure that this program is a success and that all girls that want to are able to join in!

This summer the YWCA will give girls an invaluable experience. They’ll learn how to manage their finances, explore higher education and more.   But the most important thing is that they’ll have the support of our staff through this difficult time. Our virtual program makes sure that the girls will have a community of women who can help them through self-isolation and encourage them to think of their future.

Many of the girls start out YWCA’s Summer Camp feeling socially anxious, but year after year girls say they felt more confident and at ease in social settings after attending. This is especially important throughout self-isolation when many girls are missing their friends and my feel anxious and scared.

Most of the girls that attend YWCA Pasadena’s summer camp would be the first in their families to attend college and after the program they commit to going . Go to [your unique URL] and donate to help me reach my goal of $2000 to support Camp Rosie.

Long Form –

Many of the girls in our program don’t know anyone who has gone to college. They haven’t even thought of where they might go.  By exposing girls to colleges, universities, and trade schools, the YWCA increases the chances that girls will attend college.
